The Filature Arpin, Spinning and weaving mill
This is where the wool blankets, famous the world over, were born. Founded in 1817, the Filature not only bears testimony to the ancient methods of the textile industry but continues to make products in the traditional way.
It is famous for its "Bonneval blankets" which, despite being made in Séez, owe their name to a famous guide from Bonneval- sur-Arc (Maurienne) who sold them door-to-door in 1830. A trip to this working factory is an education, retracing the history of techniques, the craftsman's love for the quality of his work, and the solidarity of a multi-skilled team devoted to authenticity.
The visitor can watch the wool of Savoie sheep being carded, spun and woven on machines more than a century old. These are classified as historical monuments and recorded in the national heritage registry. The oldest machine dates back to 1817.
In the boutique you will find clothes, shoes, hats, throws, covers, cushions, knitting wool and Bonneval blankets.
Open all year except on bank holidays.

Located in the heart of the village of Séez, the Fauna and Nature Museum recreates the mountainside and shows off the fauna of the region in a marvellous 400m² display.
Taxidermist Bernard Désoppis has set more than 500 wild and domestic animals in their natural environment, representing the seasons and Alpine terracing. One zone is given over to the reconstruction of a Savoyard home with furniture, work tools and pets. The REIGNIER Gallery
Roger REIGNIER, with his family, is the man behind this gallery dedicated to works painted during the German occupation summing up the atmosphere of the time. Sculpture developped from 1946 onwards and is revealed in bas-relief and statuettes en rond de Bosse showing subjects in relation to recent and not so recent events. These creations are not abstract but are interpreted with a contempory bareness. The elegant and talented creations of Jean-François REIGNIER also merit a mention.
